Q&A with Lloyd Nofemele
A citizen of the world, a voice of an angel, a golf swing to rival the best. Let us introduce to you the man who curates the ‘Exceptional Ellerman Experiences’, Lloyd Nofemele.
What is your motto? ‘The people around me matter’. It doesn’t matter what you do in your life, success will be largely dependent on your ability to work well with others.
Who inspires you? My mother and grandma.
What would you consider your greatest achievement to be? Travelling and working in the US for over 7 years. Returning to South Africa and a position at Ellerman House was just the cherry on top.
Your perfect day? Start with a round of golf in the morning. Spend time with my son, Ethan. Choir practice in the evening.
What could you never do without? Music and golf!
What do you aspire to learn more about? Art. Working at Ellerman House has been an absolute eye opener and I would love to learn more about it.
Which historical figure do you respect the most? Kwame Nkrumah from Ghana. I have read a lot of his books and would encourage everyone else to do the same.
Tea or coffee? Tea all day, every day.
What secret talent would you most like to have? The ability to play the piano.
What is your favourite hidden gem in Cape Town? Clarence Drive. It’s the road that runs from Gordons Bay to Hermanus along the ocean. Most people take the national road that travels over the mountain pass and miss out on the incredible scenes over the ocean.
What is your favourite movie and book of all time? Movie, The Constant Gardener. Book, To Kill a Mocking Bird.
Sean Connery, Pierce Brosnan, Daniel Craig? Pierce Brosnan.
What is your most treasured possession? A watch that was left for me by my grandmother.
If you were to die and come back as a person or thing, what would it be? Barack Obama II.
Why do you love working at Ellerman House? The beauty, the art, the committed owners, management and staff. I love coming to work, because I enjoy the people.
