Q&A with Vicky Dennet
Vicky is one of the longest standing members of the Ellerman House team. Since the Ellerman House Spa’s inception, Vicky has been manning the helm and has managed to create an oasis within an oasis. She has an absolute knack for recruiting the best therapists in the business and a love for her cats that knows no bounds.
What is your motto? Life is short! Work hard, play hard.
Who inspires you most? Nelson Mandela.
What do you consider your greatest achievement to be? Opening a successful spa at Ellerman House.
Your perfect day off in Cape Town? Head down to Clifton Beach in the morning and enjoy a little sunshine. Then take a leisurely drive out to Chapmans Peak Hotel for a boozy lunch with my husband. You must try their calamari.
What could you never do without? My family, friends…and my cats!
What makes Ellerman House unique? It’s location, generous offering and very attentive staff. Our extensive wine and art collection. Incredible cuisine and selection of latest spa trends.
What do you love most about Cape Town / South Africa? The friendliness of the people and that it is so cosmopolitan.
Which historical figure do you respect the most? Mother Theresa.
Tea or coffee? Coffee!
Which secret talent would you most like to have? The ability to read minds.
What is your favourite hidden gem in Cape Town? Miller’s Thumb restaurant.
What is your most treasured possession? My late mother-in-law’s Bonsai tree that I have nurtured for the last 9 years.
What is your favourite movie of all time? Some kind of wonderful.

What keeps you busy outside of work? Going to the gym and cooking.
Why do you love working at Ellerman House? I love the staff and freedom I have in the Spa to develop treatments. I love the fact that Ellerman House feels like our own home and return guests feel like family.
