Meet Yassir, our Guest Liaison and newest member to our Front of House Team. ‘’Being the newest member of the Ellerman family, working only two months prior to the implementation of lockdown, I was initially quite uncertain and anxious about the times that lay ahead. Adjusting to the new normal wasn’t easy because my life revolved around providing the best possible service and experience to our guests.

Although, I learned to live my life within the confines of my apartment. Spending my days brushing up on my cooking (and eating) skills, trying to figure out a healthy routine and looking for new ways to engage my mind. I had the realisation that contentment is very important and that we shouldn’t take things for granted. Many hours were spent learning about what the “new normal” would be for international and local hospitality industries. All of this building in anticipation of returning to work and having some sort of normality again with a renewed outlook on life.

The Ellerman family has been a pillar of strength through the lockdown, providing constant support and positivity. I’ve missed our beloved guests and colleagues dearly. Partially back to work now and seeing my colleagues again, I can feel the energy and excitement in the air. I am confident that when Ellerman House reopens we will be ready to welcome the world and provide the best, truly South African experience to our guests.’’
